Admission Information
The
museum admission includes:
A 23 minute video, Pillars of Fire, which explains who the principal characters
were in the
West Overton Story and a comprehensive examination of the coal and coke process. The story of this homestead goes well beyond Abraham Overholt’s distillery and
the museum covers the transformation of Western Pennsylvania from an agrarian to
an industrial economy. In addition to several cases of whiskey and distillery
related items, there are farm equipment, pottery, exhibits about the coke and
coal industry, and a number of Henry Clay Frick memorabilia located in the
Distillery Museums’ two floors.
A replica of a coke oven is on display in the museum yard next to the Distillery
Museum. There are also guided tours of the Abraham Overholt Homestead,
Springhouse (birthplace of Henry Clay Frick), Summer Kitchen/Wash
House, Smoke House, Stock Barn, Carriage House and Gardens.
